I am a Professor and Director of the School of Communication at the Ohio State University. My research examines how media consumption and digital communication platforms influence individuals’ political attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. This includes work on misinformation, social media, and selective exposure. In this work, I frequently collaborate with experts from diverse fields including political science, psychology, information, and computer science. I have received over $2M in research support, with funding from the National Science Foundation, Social Science Research Council, and Meta. My work has been published in a number of outlets, including Science Advances, the Journal of Communication, the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Political Behavior, and JAMA Network Open among others.
A list of my publications and grants is available via ORCID. The papers can also be accessed on this site. My policy briefs and popular press articles are available via the Scholars Strategy Network (SSN), and The Conversation.
